"So long, and thanks for all the fish!"

Fifteen years ago I adopted a fledgling town website from Lempster resident Alan Rauscher and created this (green) site as a volunteer service – to promote and provide a more accessible, available, and transparent local government to the greater Lempster Community.

This site will be replaced in turn, in April, as the town launches its own – official and completely new – town website, created and managed by our hard-working Town Office staff.

It's been my honor to serve the (great) Lempster community.

The Selectmen’s Meetings will be held at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday of the Month at the Meeting House, 112 Lempster St., Lempster, NH and a Work Session on the fourth Wednesday of the month, 9:00 AM at the Town Office, 856 NH Route 10, Lempster, NH.

Dear Lempster families and friends:
This will be the first of many posts to encourage local townfolk participation in the planning and success of our Annual Lempster Old Home Day festivities.
August 13, 14, 15 is the weekend of this New Hampshire's longest running event! Homes can expect a postcard in June that outlines many events including new opening ceremonies celebrating our NH National Guard and new Lempster residents, a parade, new vendors, food trucks, children's games, special shows & presentations, Lempster Fire Dept. breakfast and supper events, Beat the Chief short road race, and much, much more!
Consider attending our next planning meeting on Saturday May 1st at 10am at the Lempster Meeting House in the old village.

The Town of Lempster is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part-Time Planning Department Recording Secretary. 

The Recording Secretary will perform various secretarial, administrative support, and clerical duties including receipt and dissemination of all correspondence including phone, mail and e-mail submissions; assist residents and developers with applications, research inquiries, take minutes of assigned meetings, handle receipt of fees and other payments, and other duties as assigned by the Planning Board. The ideal candidate must be courteous, professional, helpful, motivated, and detail oriented. Writing & verbal communication skills are essential, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Must be available to attend evening meetings. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or Associates Degree. Planning or other Land Use experience is preferred, but not required.

Pay range depends on experience. Part-time - approx. 10 - 20 hours/month. Please mail letter of interest and resume to Lempster Planning Board, P.O. TOWN OF LEMPSTER, NH
ANNUAL TOWN MEETING

UNDER EMERGENCY ORDER #83

Due to concerns arising from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and as duly authorized under Emergency Order #83 as so ordered by Governor Christopher T. Sununu on January 22, 2021, the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Lempster do hereby give notice as follows:

To the voters of the Town of Lempster, in the County of Sullivan, in said State qualified to vote in Town affairs. You are hereby notified that the annual town meeting that is normally held on the second Tuesday in March as per NH RSA 39:1 will be postponed for the year 2021 to June 8, 2021.

You are hereby notified to meet at the Lempster Community School in said Lempster on Tuesday, the 8th day of June, 2021 at three thirty (3:30 P.M.) in the afternoon to open the polls for the voting of candidates, and at seven o’clock (7:00 P.M.) in the evening for the discussion of the articles of the warrant. The polls for voting on Article 1 will remain open until 7:30 P.M.

Updated Instructions for Registering Medically Vulnerable Patients for Vaccination

COVID-19: To the Residents of Lempster (.pdf of this document)

With concerns around COVID–19 and the well-being of the employees and residents the Town offices will be closed to the public effective November 24, 2020 until further notice. We are still committed to providing a high level of service for the community. We will continue to be in the office taking your phone calls, completing transactions by mail, and have in person appointments when needed. We have added many of the frequently used forms to the town website www.lempsternh.org.

PLEASE NOTE: THE LEMPSTER TOWN OFFICE MAILING ADDRESS CHANGED 1/1/2021. NEW MAILING ADDRESS IS NOW 856 NH ROUTE 10 LEMPSTER, NH 03605

Town Clerk: Motor Vehicle renewals including trailers and boats, dog licensing and Vital Record requests can be sent by mail. All new car registrations please call 863-3213 for an appointment.

Tax Collector: Tax payments can be made by mail, via the Tax Kiosk at www.lempsternh.org, or by scheduled drop off time. Please call at 863-3213 with any concerns or question about taxes.

Selectmen’s Office: The Office is closed to the public but can be reached at [email protected] or 603-863-2698.

Fire Station: The building is closed to the public and any other non- essential personnel until further notice. This is in an effort to protect the first responders as they are an extreme asset to fight this virus. On behalf of the Fire and Rescue Department they are asking if at all possible to stay home for our community. And also be extra diligent to make sure those above 60 years of age are taken care of - especially those with underlying health issues.

Highway Department: The highway building is closed to the public except by appointment. Phone number 863-6779.

Library: Please call for information 603-863-0051

Miner Memorial Library
will be open by appointment beginning October 5, 2020. Masks are required for everyone over 2-years of age before entering the building. Call 863-0051 or email [email protected] to make an appointment- confirmation by the librarian will follow. Appointments will be made for one household, up to 6 people, per 30-minute time slot. Services available include walk-through browsing of library materials and computer use.

Please plan to arrive promptly for appointments to allow for ample cleaning and disinfecting of the library between appointments. Curbside pick up will continue for those who prefer it. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you for your help!

OUR ONLINE CATALOG is available for searching and requesting materials online.
