Swift Corwin was present to discuss our upcoming trail planning and logging to be done on the Long Pond Town Forest.  Due to the low cost of timber at this time, we will look to the spring or summer for this activity.  We discussed marking for the trail in the spring with the logging to start in June.

He also submitted his bill for the past two years of being our forester for the sum of $750 per year for a total of $1500.

A motion was made by Jim, second by Emily to pay this bill from our account.  All were in favor.

Russell Orzechowski was present to discuss the estimate he submitted to prune the apple orchard on Earl's Lane.  Due to low funds, we asked him if we could do some of the work and perhaps do a third of the orchard to start with and go from there.

He stated that the trees would perform better if every other tree was removed (due to overcrowding) and that the dead trees be removed.  This time of year is the best to do this work before the budding begins.  He will submit another estimate of the cost of the work to only do a third of the orchard.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 1 at 6pm.

The meeting was adjourned @ 7:10 pm.
