The Selectmen reviewed the contract for MacMillin. Chairman Grenier made a motion to accept the contract approved by the Building Team Committee and to send a check for $25,500 to MacMillin. Selectman Sauer seconded the motion. All were in favor.
Agenda Item 4: Miscellaneous
Richard Schur addressed his concern with truck drivers with junk cars speeding on Mountain Road. He said that he almost got killed yesterday by a speeding truck towing junk cars and that once this winter he got stuck in a snow bank on Mountain Road when he moved aside for a truck towing a junk car. Chairman Grenier thanked Mr. Schur for coming in and said that she believes it is a police matter and that he should contact them.
Chairman Grenier recognized Mr. Haydon and asked if he would like to address the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Haydon said that he is concerned about a sink hole on Dodge Hollow Rd. across from the logging by the red house. He suggested a cone be placed there until it can be fixed. Mr. Haydon said that he wanted to remind the Board that the FEMA money needs to be returned if the work is not completed within 18 months unless an extension is approved. Mr. Haydon said he does not believe the work recommended from FEMA on his road (Dodge Hollow) has been completed.
Administrative Assistant Ingrid Locher suggested that the Board of Selectmen meet with the Road Agent to go over the recommended repairs from FEMA to see what is left to be done.
Selectman Thurber made a motion to cancel the work sessions on the alternating Wednesdays and to only sign checks on those days. He explained in the past that was the purpose but that because sometimes more than one Selectman would show up at the same time they posted it as a work session. The regular 7:00 PM SelectmenÕs meetings on the second and forth Wednesday of the month would continue.
Selectman Sauer expressed his concern about fitting in business such as todayÕs non-public session with interviews just before a 7:00 PM meeting. Administrative Assistant Ingrid Locher said that the Selectmen can still have work sessions and other meetings as needed if they are posted ahead of time.
Chairman Grenier seconded the motion. All were in favor.
