Selectmen Town of Lempster
We have responded to two calls this month. A mutual aid call to Washington for a brush fire and a propane call to Bonnie Plant farm.
I met with State Fire Marshal Max Shultz last Monday to see the progress the Bonnie Plant farm has done up to this point. They have corrected some of the problems and will continue to do so. They are planning to complete everything by the end of August. We will meet the Engineer at that time to make sure everything is up to code.
Phil, Ted and Mario attended the Fire Chiefs Convention in New York. Phil, Ted, Jon, Davey, Brandon and myself attended the Fire Chiefs Convention in Springfield, Mass. We saw new equipment and got a lot of helpful ideas for our Department. Ted, Phil and I also attended the 6th Annual Emergency Preparedness Conference in Manchester. This was a very good conference, the classes we took will be very helpful in the future with grant writing and everyday operation.
Ron has been very busy getting our trucks repaired. This has saved us and the town major repair bills. I really appreciate the work he has done. Monday he replaced the air cans in the Engine. This Thursday (if all the parts come in) he will be meeting with American LaFrance to get all the repairs done on the Quint.
We had a work detail and got cleaning and dry hydrants flushed. This was after members enjoyed a pancake breakfast prepared by the Chief. Another work detail will be scheduled soon.
